Every April in the National Historic Fort Worth Stockyards is an event Dubbed the Ultimate Music Festival and BBQ Competition in Fort Worth, TX. The Smokedown features a annual IBCA World-Championship competition! Their professional judges select 10 Winners from each of the three categories: Spare Ribs, Chicken, and Brisket. Overall Grand Champion and Reserve Champion are also selected! Plus – you get the experience of some of the best bands playing all day, and ending with some of the best talent in Country Music like Shane Smith & The Saints, Bri Bagwell, Muscadine Bloodline, and more. Oh and did I mention IT’S ABOUT THE STUDENTS – The Smokedown is designed exclusively to fulfill the Syndicate’s mission of making the dreams of young livestock exhibitors come true through educational scholarships. We accomplish this by awarding $10,000 scholarships to Texas 4-H and Texas FFA students pursing careers in agriculture or life sciences at a Texas state sponsored university.
